Struggling Spellers

If you have previously used another reading/spelling curriculum, and have children who are still struggling with spelling, we can recommend using the Progressive Speller in conjunction with the book The ABC’S and All Their Tricks. The Progressive Speller can be used to obtain phonetic word lists for exercises, and The ABC’S and All Their Tricks can be used to explain and teach the corresponding phonetic rules and explanations. Although The ABC’S and All Their Tricks is primarily a reference book, it can easily be used as a textbook. Studying a few pages per week over the course of a year should help fill in any gaps in a child’s phonics education.
