Product Image Add To Cart   Are You Serious About Marriage?
How is your marriage doing? Do you have a close, loving relationship with your husband? Do you feel that you are “one,” as you set out to be years ago? Or are things beginning to unravel as the stresses of life mount?

Are you disappointed in your husband? Are you disappointed in life? Are you disappointed in your marriage? Are you struggling? Perhaps this little book, Are You Serious About Marriage? will shed some light on the perplexing issues women face.

It is not written from a know-it-all attitude but from the heart of a woman that knew nothing, and had to learn along the way. It is not a “20 Steps to a Great Marriage,” but the sharing of a journey to become a wife as God has intended a woman to be.

We have had a tremendous number of requests from our former In Keeping With the Faith subscribers to put this series of marriage articles into a book. We have, and they now continue to bless and help wives to be godly, loving helpmeets to their husbands. People have requested them for future reference, for their children, for newly married women, for women who are struggling in their marriages, for Bible studies, and for those young women preparing for marriage. We have received countless testimonies of changed lives, and changed marriages, as a result of these articles.

If you are ready for a change and want to really get serious about your marriage, give this a read.

We first read about this book in an excellent review in US News & World Report. We ordered a copy and we were impressed! Many of us "know how to cook." However, we often simply have a trial-and-error knowledge that some things work and some things fail. But why? What would work? And how do we know what to try. When a recipe fails we are often left wondering why. That is where this book comes in. This book teaches the chemistry of cooking! When it arrived, we found it so fascinating that we all just sat down and read it, and we learned a great deal. There are ninety-nine pages just on flours and bread making. It lists the effects of different flours, different types of honey, different yeasts, and even how our source of water can sometimes make a difference between beautifully risen breads or hard little bricks! This book is worth the price. It is a treasure trove of knowledge on the "hows" and "whys" of cooking that recipes never explain. It is also an excellent instructional book if you are teaching others to cook. Each recipe starts off with, "What this recipe shows." As a result, you are learning to create rather than just follow instructions. Because the book is a secular work, it contains a few recipes that use ingredients that contain alcohol.

I wish I had read this book years ago. It is not really a how-to book, but is a book on creativity. It was originally named Hidden Art and that was a more accurate name. It focuses on how very creative our God is, and since we are created in His image, we also are creative beings. Our creativity comes out in very different ways with different people. My husband and I are as different as night and day in every area of our lives. This book helped me to understand him and others a little more. Although we do not agree with all her choices of reading materials, I learned much from it and would encourage others to read it.

The book is about solutions to financial problems. It is the story of a family struggling to make ends meet. They look around at their friends and acquaintances observing the different lifestyles. They also consider what these families do to make a dollar stretch or to bring additional income into the family coffers. The first couple of chapters are slow reading, but the reader soon becomes caught up in the lives of these people. It covers many financial options from part time jobs to home businesses, and the effects of each on the family. The grandparents give very helpful insights into where they made their mistakes when their children were young, and the impact of those mistakes on the lives of their now-grown children. This book provides considerable wisdom from people who have made and analyzed their mistakes and successes. We can learn from them.
