Answer to "Sashes or ?"

Hi!

We have a Contender's for the Faith club and felt that sashes seemed too feminine for boys. Instead, one of the mom's of our group made banners for their badges. The fabric is royal blue heavy twill. They are one foot wide by two feet tall. While the boys were earning their woodworking badges, they cut and stained 3/4" dowels to slide into the top and bottom hems. They also attached balls to the ends of the dowels with pegs. And they drilled holes in the top dowel and strung gold cord through for it to hang from. Then they made plaques with their names or initials routed into them. These were also sanded, stained, and varnished. They have one large cup-hook screwed in for hanging their banner. This way their banners can be hung on a wall.
