Subject: Poem about Goldenrods

I would like to know if anyone knows of a poem..about Goldenrods..most likely from a school book source..McGuffy Reader..before 1926. My Aunt is 90 years old..and remembers a poem dealing with Goldenrods. Only one was found SO FAR.. "The Golden Rod"..by Frank Dempster Sherman. This is not the one she is looking for. Do you know of such a poem or can you direct me where I can go for this info? Thanks!

Subject: Joy of Womanhood

Hi Folks, I just ordered the Joy of Womanhood, the Stepping stones handbook, and Princess in Calico. I am a 29 year old wife and mother of four boys and expecting a fifth baby in December. I want to go through the Joy of Womanhood in order to learn to enjoy being a housewife and mother. I'm so tired all the time, and I feel so lost, I have a sense of discontentment which I would love to shed. I really dislike doing all the housework and endless chores, but inside I have a deep sense of longing to learn to like it. My husband and I own a construction business so he's very busy with work, and I feel ashamed to admit the struggle I'm having. I can tell if I allow it to go on I will have deep resentment and bitterness, and I don't really want to have any part of that. I would love to learn to sew and decorate my home, and improve my homemaking and womanly skills, and really really change my attitude or heart concerning the drudge that is involved with the endless work ahead of me. I would like for you to post on the forum board for me that I'm looking for other women to loosely band together via email or locally who are interested in encouraging each other through the book or who would like to join me in my endeavor. I hope this is an appropriate action (I haven't seen the book yet). I'm in Manteca, California and my email address is bionaz@gte.net You may post any or all of this email that is appropriate. Thank you so much, I'm looking forward to my books arriving.....

Subject: Competition

Hi,
I am planning on participating in your program. It sounds great! I have a question, though.
I was blessed to get some back issues of Coming Home. You wrote an article in the J/F 1996 issue on Are We Training Our Children To Seek After Humbleness, or Pridefulness?
My question is, if this is how you feel about such things, why do you offer badges and recommend wearing them on sashes? Is that not prideful, according to what you wrote? I am asking sincerely. Why offer badges if they are not to be displayed somehow? And why display them unless others are to see our children's accomplishments? I am only trying to reconcile your article and your program.
You say in the article: "Pride is not only generated by sports. It simply occurs when we excel. That is because we can only excel in comparison to others. Paul warns us against comparing or measuring our abilities and talents. 'For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves, are not wise.'"  Is not bestowing earned badges "commending"? And would not wearing sashes with badges encourage comparing (who has how many badges?)
Personally, I have not been convicted as you state you are in your article. Maybe God will at some point. But I couldn't help but see what seemed like contradiction in the article and your program.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for your reply.

Subject: Games

I am looking for fun games to play for Sunday School, that would go along with teaching lessons in "Keepers at Home", or just for getting acquainted with the class.  Do you have anything that would help me?  Thanks.

If anyone can help Debbie out please respond to forum@keepersofthefaith.com.
