Subject: A club in Christian School

I am a supervisor at our Christian Academy (at our church). Currently, we use a different program for our Wednesday night kids ministries. I was wondering has any heard of someone having a club within their school. We are small and I thought this might work for our afternoon, once or twice a week. Any thoughts?

Subject: Finances

I am starting a new Keepers club in the DFW area, and was wondering about IRS status of our finances.  I have several area businesses that are interested in doing a "matching funds" donation based on our fundraising efforts.   To be able to give them a tax break for charitable donations, I'm assuming that I'll have to register the club as a "not-for-profit".  I've never dealt with this before - Is this difficult?  Impossible? Any suggestions?  *grin*  HELP!

Subject: When Keepers actually begins . . .

I hope this makes sense. My daughter is 5 right now. I know that they start this when they are 6. Do the groups run on a "school year" basis? For instance, when my daughter turns 6 in Feb. will she have to wait until the following Sept. to join a group?

Subject: Suggestions Anyone?

I'm sure there are lots of us beginners who would heartily welcome the comments of other groups. We have just had our first meeting.  It went well, but I feel very unsure of what I am doing! I would love to read about what other groups do. We had a devotional on encouraging one another (for our group as well as other aspects of life) then a project. Can anyone suggest more for us? I want to keep this exciting and interesting. Thanks!

Subject: Differing Religions

I am greatly encouraged by your program.  I am looking forward to getting my print catalog.

I am considering beginning a neighborhood group for my daughters and their friends.  We will be dealing with differing religions, and in some cases, no active religious life in their homes.

Do you have a particular religious (denomination) requirement or exclusion for participation in this program?  I believe that all of these little ladies will benefit from your program, regardless of religion, and would hate to see some girls excluded because their parents might be of a different faith.

Subject: Reporting?

Do I have to report to a national organization on what badges the children are earning? How much record keeping is involved? I have 150 children interested which involves dozens of families. Do I have to order for them or can they order for themselves? I’m a little scared to take this on. Can you help me?

Subject: Older Girls Club

Hello, my name is Karen. I am planning to have a Keepers group for two young ladies age 17 and 19. The youngest is my dd and the other girl needs mothering and nurturing in the ways of Christian womanhood. She is a Christian but had no real home-life growing up. Both girls are excited. I will order 3 Bible studies and 3 handbooks. I will also order a parents guide. Will that be enough? I am hoping eventually the Lord may open this group up to other older girls who have these same needs. Have you known of other people who have used this with older girls-really young women? Do you have any suggestions that would make this more successful? It is my desire and prayer that this older girl will turn her heart more and more to the ways of the Lord and less to the world’s mold. Thank you.

Subject: Average cost per child

I am researching this wonderful arena in order to present the possibility of using it to my homeschool group. However, I need to be able to present a cost to the parents. Is it better to charge a set fee per month, (and if so, what,) and purchase all materials needed for crafts out of that, or let each participant purchase their materials separately?

Subject: Charm Bracelets

I like the idea of using bracelets that could be easily kept as a keepsake for years to come.  Can I use the bracelets for younger girls?  Are all of the achievement awards available for the bracelets?

Subject - When was the club started?

My husband and I are very interested in this program, but we would like to know how long it has been in operation.  We want to make sure it is well established before we invest in it.  Thank you.

Subject - What is needed to start a very small Contenders group.

I am wondering what we will need to start a very small Contenders group (2 so far and maybe 1 - 2 more).  I have a book and that is it.  Do I need a directors starter kit?  Do we share the cost? or do I pay for it?  A friend in a Keepers group mentioned that there had to be two dads involved?  We are wanting to meet twice a month at my house, but just not sure how to go about this.  My husband and I will be here and the other boy and his dad will come.  I am not sure how the rest will want to be involved yet.  Any suggestions??? Help.  Also, we are very short on money, if this helps.

Subject - How to begin monthly meetings for Keepers of the Home

I am thinking of starting a Keepers of the Home group (somewhat like a Girl Scout group) but am not sure how you would organize your monthly meetings.  Do you work on a project to get it started each month?  Or do you pick a project and the meeting would provide the time for fellowship and continued work on the project for several months?

Thanks for the Help.

Subject - Young daughters

I am very interested in the Keepers of the Faith clubs.  At what ages do they start, and how can I find out if there is already one in my area?  And if not, how would I go about starting one?

Subject: Projects as group or individual?

We have just begun having a class for Keepers of the Home.  The 10 girls that come love it.  Thank you for the material.  I am wondering if I should expect the girls to work on projects of their choosing at home or wait until we can all work on them together?

Subject: Question about Finances

I have another question for you as we begin our new club.  I plan to open a separate account to track Keepers dues and expenses.  May I name my account Keepers at Home or Stepping Stones, or are those names patented trademarks?  Should I create yet another name for our specific club?  That seems confusing.  How do others deal with this?
