How Keepers Chose a Homeschool Science Curriculum

Science is the study of God's creation. True scientific study requires knowledge, understanding, and good language and mathematical skills. In the elementary years, our goal is to build the students' basic knowledge about the world God created. If we achieve that goal, when they develop the language and math skills they need, they will be able to do real scientific study. A good textbook is a framework to develop children's basic understanding of some of the 'whys' of the world around them. This, again, is the goal. We can also add unit studies. A student will enjoy learning more about some topic of special interest. However, random unit studies are no substitute for an organized and thorough coverage of the necessary basics. After a long search, we chose the Rod & Staff Science curriculum. It is both biblically and academically sound as well as very economical.
