Reading and Writing Curriculum Introduction

What could be more foundational in a child's education than reading and writing? It is absolutely essential for a child to develop reading, comprehension and writing skills to achieve any serious learning. Of course, the better those skills, the more readily and effectively knowledge is absorbed. This is the launchpad from which other academic endeavors spring. As Christians, we need a curriculum that will be pleasing to God while developing sterling skills as well. To what profit do we learn the things of this world if that learning dulls our discernment about the things of the next?
