I really enjoy using this book for my 2nd grader. He enjoys it as well. The story or poem is read aloud 4 days and a different activity is done each day. In this book, after the reading is vocabulary definitions using the glossary at the end of the book. The next day is answering questions. I have my son answer them orally in complete sentences. The 3rd day is narration and the final day is explaining how the Scripture verses applies to the reading. I like this book because my son practices his oral reading, learns new vocabulary, narrates the story back to me which requires he focus on the reading and includes a relevant Bible verse. The stories are interesting, wholesome and character building. We use this as our reading curriculum. I enjoy sitting with my son and listening to these stories and poems being read. I am looking forward to getting the next book for next school year and using them with my son's 3 younger siblings!
