"It often happens that one rebellious child is enough, to destroy the peace of a whole family." This short book has a lot of food for thought! While my modern mind had a hard time wrapping my brain around sending my child to live with her grandparents for 6 years and not seeing her once, I do know that things like that did happen in times past. At first I blamed Elvira's parents for sending her away, but when they extended so much grace to her and she refused to obey I did see that Elvira's heart was to blame. This book will make you ask, What would I do with a child who would not respond to discipline? Would I take the extreme measures that Elvira's parents did? I thought there was excellent illustration of a sinner's realationship to God before being saved. I also liked the lesson of not meddling in other parents' affairs. A woman stops to visit and she knowing nothing of Elvira and her rebellion starts meddling. I loved the homeschooling scenes in this book. A thought provoking read.

Your Comments!
I received your catalog and learned so much about applying the Bible to every day life just by reading your catalog! Your explanation of how you choose books brought conviction to me about how I have chosen my entertainments in the past and I am praying to make changes based on your biblical example and arguments. I have ordered as many as I can afford right now and plan to just check off each one until I own everything that you sell. Thank you for all of the care that you put into your selections and for being trustworthy.
