I have read ‘Lift a Little’ and I like it. It first shows how even little girls/boys can help bear one another’s burdens in home, school, etc. Secondly it shows how you can also lift a little by overcoming some of your annoying habits. I can be helpful in both areas and it shows how we can lift a little in the smallest, funniest ways. It really shows how you can be a help to your mother and you may never know how much it helps by helping with siblings, cleaning, etc. It also shows how to learn from another’s experiences; in this instance it was their mother’s stories and the characters’ faults and achievements. It is better to listen and learn then to talk and teach. Personally while reading this mother’s stories I see my faults through the people talked about and I also see that the children saw their faults too. Then, too, I see the kindness to their younger brother in the latter part of the story when the girls promised to make their brother a badge. This is one of my favorite books!!
