This sequel to Aunt Hannah, Martha and John is an incredible read. At first you might begin to think this is just an adventuresome story, but Isabella Alden wrote about true happenings to herself, family, people in her church or people she met. In this sequel John Remington went on to fight the battle of his life with those opposed to the temperance movement. It affected his life and those he loved and ultimately cost him dearly. There is much to be learned about love and forgiveness, being true to the Lord and one's convictions in the face of heated opposition, and living for the only worthwhile reason, and that is living for the Lord. This is a hard one to put down. KOF Old Reprint.

Sequel to Aunt Hannah and Martha and John, in this book we meet many of the characters from the previous one, including Elsie Chilton, Aleck Palmer, and Earle Mason. John Remington is fighting temperance full force under Jesus’ banner, and life after life is transformed as the Christians move forward against rum. It costed John dearly, and yet God was with them through all their efforts and tears. We also see in this book the continued, interesting, conflicting, story of young Elsie Chilton. Will her father ever come to the realization of how bad a person Aleck Palmer is? An excellent story for all, this sequel inspired me to follow Jesus at all costs, and gave me various helpful hints for my Christian walk. This book is a hard one to put down, and will grasp your attention, and hold it till the end.
