I have a difficult time discovering which book by Isabella Alden is my favorite, but this one is up there. This book goes through Rebecca Harlow’s courtship to Frank Edwards, and her early years of marriage. She comes from a large, poorer family, and her husband’s family is very wealthy and high up in society, and the mother does not treat the young wife kindly. As Rebecca walks the valley of the shadow of death, her beautiful trust in God radiates from her heart. I was blessed by several things, but I’ll only name a couple. Number one is her ultimate love to God. When she and Frank started going together, she follows God’s will and desire, even though Frank’s invitations to sleigh riding, etc. appealed to her. Number two is her love and patience shown to her trying mother-in-law. It was very good and interesting, and I highly recommend it! Isabella Alden wrote many Christian books that are true, and I haven’t read one that has not blessed me in one way or another.

I would like to write this message to the whole Zakula family. I wanted to say thank you to all of you!! It is so nice to use books for my children and not be afraid of what they might read. Especially for our school books, and subjects like science and history. The Keepers and Contenders books are so wonderful in leading our kids to grow how God would want them to grow and someday have their own families.
