The verse “Boast not thyself of tomorrow” is especially true for Claire Benedict, as she plans to do things according to her plans, but not to God’s. A professor, but not a possessor, Claire leans on her own strength, but finds it not suitable or firm. Believing finally in Jesus and trusting in Him, she moves forward despite troubles and disappointments, leading many to God by her testimony. Her sweet determined character shines forth in this true account by Isabella Alden. I was inspired by Claire to serve Christ whole-heartedly, and this book helped my walk with the Savior. This narrative was indeed an inspiration for me, and I highly recommend it to others. Thank you, Keepers, for these wonderful books!

This is such an encouraging book! Claire undergoes many changes when her father dies. Her family loses all of their money and she must now support them. She accepts a job in an old town as a music teacher. When Claire visits the church in that town she sees how dirty and old everything is in it. With her scholars she undertakes the task of setting it in order. While Claire goes about her work she touches many lives in that town. It is hard to believe that it is a true story! It is uplifting and thought-provoking. Are you whole-heartedly serving the Lord despite your circumstances?

Last night my 12 year old came in with tears because she was moved by the spiritual lesson in one of Alden's books and we stayed up to midnight talking about it. (that is why I bought 12 KOF books for her last week for her birthday next week) Thank you.
