We may sometimes view life as a road full of sinking mud, yawning potholes, and treacherous curves; while bruised, broken, and battered we plod on with hopes that somehow, someday everything will come out right. Nothing could be further from the truth! Stepping Heavenward has encouraged me to view my life as a journey; one that must be traveled cautiously, yet resolutely, as I seek to reach a higher plane in my relationship with God—never growing satisfied with my current state—but pressing on until I reach heaven’s tableland. My progress surely seems slow and tedious at times, but when I look down at the planes beneath me, I realize just how far I’ve come. How thankful I am for all of my trials and snares which force me to gaze longingly heavenward!
