This book is about a young woman by the name of Eunice Hollister, and her marriage to Burton Landis. Her husband, who deceived both Eunice and her family, is only posing as a Christian man. As the days go on, startling truths shake Eunice as she discovers the many secret sins of the man who promised to love and cherish her, and her marriage begins to fall apart. On her knees, while pouring out her soul to the ear of God, the Holy Spirit convicts and brings to her remembrance the solemn words that meant so much, “Till death do you part”. Eunice knows that she can no longer feel the same towards Burton, yet she would stay true to her marriage vows and God’s will and promises. Her children’s lives are very affected as well, as their parents are on opposite sides of the coin, so-to-speak. Isabella Alden did a fantastic job with this one, and vividly showed me how being unequally yoked is a terrible, painful situation, and people can be very deceptive. I recommend this book to girls before marriage and after. You will in no doubt be blessed.
