I purchased this book for my younger sister for Christmas. It covers many topics from Bible reading and memorization to sewing and cake decorating. This book encourages girls to learn how to do many of the skills that our society has lost. Also, there are many requirements to accomplish before the skills can be signed by an adult. This ensures that the girls really master it before moving on to a new skill. The only drawback to this is that some skills require an essay to be written. For some girls this may be challenging and discouraging. The book is also completely black and white, contrary to the sample page on applique. Still, this book is such a great resource and definitely deserves all five stars. It is an excellent book for older girls!
